Military ready for career resources

So... you're actually leaving? Are you ready to trade the everyday uniform for... making choices on what to wear?

Don't worry. Leaving the Armed Forces lifestyle can either be scary or relieving, but oftentimes... both.

Here are some AFI-quality translations to help you adjust:

  • Don't say: "Going to the latrine."

  • Say: "Going to the water closet/ bathroom/ restroom." Ugh... choices...

  • Don't ask: "Tracking?"

  • Ask: "Do you understand what I'm saying?"

  • Now, "Rog" will become part of your personal brand

  • But best of all, you are no longer 'standard issue'

  • You have the freedom to no longer 'standby'

Whew... what an extensive list. Do you feel adequately prepared to start your civilian career now? No? I need to start doing a better job. Ok, Air Force/ Marines / Army / Navy / Coast Guard / Space Force veterans, this post is for you.

To redirect my career path, I have been researching career growth opportunities for veterans. As a result, I decided to do my favorite thing: teach others what I've learned.

Below, I've compiled a list of organizations and programs dedicated to helping veterans succeed in their careers. If you have questions about these programs, please contact them directly. I'm not a recruiter, nor do I work for any of these organizations. Again, I'm simply here to share valuable resources that could make a difference in your life. So, send this link to every veteran you know. And if you're interested in a resume template or other resources, check out my shop.
