Air Force 4N051? Step-by-step guide to become an LPN

Please read Frequently Asked Questions at the bottom before downloading the LPN Guide at the very bottom of this post.

After completing my CCAF (Community College of the Air Force) degree, I took the NCLEX-PN exam. I was officially a 5-level and ready to take the military training to the civilian world. If you want to watch the stressful process of taking the exam, watch my emotional roller coaster here:

After I passed the NCLEX-PN, Missouri certified me as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Then, I transferred the license to Florida. Since, it was a long, difficult process gathering all of the information needed to become an LPN as a 4N051, I decided to help others with the process by creating a streamlined document.

I've benefitted from becoming an LPN. And I hope you will too.

Although the Missouri Board of Nursing states that you do not need a degree (at the time of my exam in 2020), I HIGHLY recommend completing your CCAF Associate's in Nursing Technology (4N0X1 degree). Look it up here on Air University.

Anywho, see the attached document for a step-by-step guide to becoming an LPN as a 4N051.

Benefits of Becoming a LPN:

  • Continue to use your medical knowledge

  • Work PRN (as needed)

  • Start a business with some type of medical credentials

  • Smooth transition once you are looking for a civilian job

  • Work while in RN school (gain experience)

  • Possible chance of leveraging salary for RN positions

  • Increase job stability (there will always be a need)
